Yesterday, Jiaxing, a city of Zhejiang, held a conference to push ahead with the construction of the civilization practice center and rural culture center of the New Era, implement provincial instructions, summarize and exchange experiences and arrange the work to be done next to better give play to existing advantages of rural characteristic culture centers and strive to build high-quality civilization practice centers of the New Era in the whole city at the end of 2019 and take the lead in Zhejiang and even in the whole country. 

At the conference, awards were presented and certificates granted to Provincial Five-Star and Municipal Four-Star rural cultural centers, to the Most Respectable Staff of Cultural Centers of Zhejiang and to the most respectable winners in the elections of the rural culture centers of Jiaxing. Also the speeches were delivered by the representatives from such regions as Nanhu, Tongxiang, Haiyan and Haining.  

The conference called on the whole city to improve political stance, the responsibility and mission senses of the construction of civilization practice centers and rural culture centers of the New Era, fully realize that the construction of these centers is a major measure to consolidate the grassroots foundation of the CPC, a new requirement to meet people’s new expectation of good life and a strong support of rural revitalization. All should know well the contents of civilization practices of the New Era, expand new room and build long-term mechanisms, strengthen leadership and responsibility senses and achieve tremendous progress in planning and driving the high-quality construction of theses centers.

It is known that all counties (county-level cities and districts) under Jiaxing were honored as the provincial progressive counties in building rural culture centers at the end of 2016. By the end of last year, 679 municipal rural culture centers have been built in 89.46% of administrative villages, the highest percentage in the whole province. In August 2018, Haining was honored as a pilot construction county (district and county-level city) for the civilization practice centers of the New Era, and in December of the same year, Nanhu was honored as a provincial pilot construction county (district and county-level city) for the civilization practice centers of the New Era. Both regions have achieved remarkable progress in the pilot construction of these centers.
