The 6^th World Internet Conference (WIC) is to take place in Wuzhen, Jiaxing, during Oct. 20-22 , 2019, according to the news from the press conference held by the State Council Information Office yesterday afternoon. Such leaders introduced the WIC and relevant preparation work as Liu Liehong from Cyberspace Administration of China, Zhu Guoxian from CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, and Sheng Yongjun from CPC Tongxiang Municipal Committee. They also answered reporters’ questions.

According to Liu Liehong, this WIC is themed by “Intelligent Interconnection, Cooperation and Opening up -Joint Establishment of Cyberspace Community”. Over 1,500 guests will attend the conference from governmental and international organizations, leading enterprises, and technological and social organizations. Currently, the preparatory work has come to an end. In addition to forums and presentations & exhibitions for leading sci-tech achievements held in the previous WIC, the global Internet Contest “Direct Connection with Wuzhen” will be held. This newly added contest will focus on innovation and starting up businesses, aiming to build an internationally famous contest brand for future industries and digital economy. During the WIC, the final and award ceremony are to be held.

Based on the previous experience and improvement, the conference this year will demonstrate a brand-new outlook and more wonderful contents of the WIC to the world. As a host, Zhejiang will spare no effort in full preparation for a more splendid and influential WIC, according to Zhu Guoxian.
