Several days ago, the Exchange Meeting on the Trade Unions of Jiaxing was convened in the place where Pinghu Federation of the Trade Union is located. This meeting was held to carry out the decisions made by the 11^th Plenary Session of the Eighth Congress of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and the targets made by the Eighth Congress of Jiaxing Trade Union, summarized the trade union work of 2020 and arranged the work of 2021, especially the key work to contribute intelligence and efforts to local great development and progress. 

Under the correct leadership of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and Zhejiang Federation of Trade Union in 2020, all levels of trade unions of Jiaxing focused on the overall work of Jiaxing and workers’ needs, deepened trade union reform, intensified efforts in the pandemic control, Party building and industrial reform, organized labor competitions, preserved staff’s interests, and improved cadres’ work style of trade unions. In 2020, the trade unions played a more important role in pushing forward with local high-quality development, improving people’s life quality and work environment, and made people live a happier, securer and richer life.

At the Meeting, the work experience and plans were introduced and shared by the representatives from the federations of the trade unions of each county, county-level city, district, Jiaxing Economic and Technological Development Zone, Jiaxing Port Area and some industries. 2020 is a special year. In face of the severe pandemic, medical staff worked hard against the Covid-19 in the front. The federation of the trade unions in health and fitness fields held activities to learn from good examples and offered care and services to medical workers fighting the pandemic; the federation of the trade unions in education inspired teaching staff to conduct online teaching to ease the impact on education arising from the severe pandemic; the trade unions in construction and traffic fields launched construction contests to support the campaign “High-quality Jiaxing”, the construction projects in celebration of the 100^th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. In order to deepen the reform, Pinghu Federation of the Trade Union issued “Construction Standards of the Trade Unions of Non-public Businesses of the New Era”. The participants of the Meeting benefited a lot and were impressed deeply by those introductions supported by beautiful illustrations, good structures, rich contents and a large number of data.

2012 is the year of the 100^th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the beginning year of the “14^th Five-year Plan” and the starting point to build a socialist modern country. How to take the first step and a new journey is vital at this new starting point. Jiaxing Federation of the Trade Union has launched a new initiative to work harder for the great  development and huge progress of Jiaxing.

With the celebration of the 100^th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China as the center, all levels of trade unions of the city were required by the Meeting to strive to make innovations, serve the people heart and soul, deepen grassroots trade union reform and the reform in favor of industrial workers’ development, respect labor, learn from labor models, advocate craftsmanship spirit, safeguard workers’ rights, provide skill training and volunteer services for all workers, build Jiaxing into an exemplary city with good labor relations, a model city with excellent online trade unions and beautiful enterprises, a pilot city rich in soup for soul and a beautiful city of happy life, and improve trade unions’ abilities in knowing well work requirements and political stances, implementing policies and decisions, providing suggestions and proposals and making work supervisions and summaries.
