Yesterday morning, the delegation of Zhejiang of the 5th Session of the 13th National People’s Congress checked and examined the “Report on the Implementation of the 2021 Plan for National Economic and Social Development and on the 2022 Draft Plan for National Economic and Social Development” (hereinafter referred to as “Plan Report”) and the “Report on the Execution of the Central and Local Budgets for 2021 and the Draft Plan of Central and Local Budgets for 2022”. Zhang Bing, a deputy to the 13^th National People’s Congress and secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee made specific proposals on building Jiaxing into a national logistics hub.

The Plan Report adheres to Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era, makes an overall summary of achievements and a scientific plan of tasks, conforms to the Report on the Work of the Government (2022) and reflects the consistency of comprehensive planning and key development, of initiative and prudence, and of being qualitative and quantitative, so it is a high-quality report that highlights the political position, accords with actual development, and represents the characteristics of the New Era, Zhang Bing said.

In its review of the work of 2021, the Plan Report says “The industrial chain and supply chain continued to get stronger” “25 new national logistics hubs were built in 2021”. He earnestly requested national supports to build Jiaxing into a national logistics hub. 

In 2018, National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Transport launched the planning and construction of national logistics hubs. At the end of that year, Jiaxing was included into the national production and service-oriented logistics cities, so Jiaxing was eligible to apply for the construction of the national logistics hub city, Zhang Bing said.

Zhang Bing suggested building Jiaxing, now a logistics point, into a national logistics hub of the south region of the Yangtze River Delta, supporting Jiaxing’s rapid construction of major transportation projects, building the city into a professional air cargo hub, a multimodal air transport center of the Yangtze River Delta and an important supporting airport for Shanghai's hub airport, speeding up the preliminary work of Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo Railway, Shanghai-Zhapu-Hangzhou Railway and Jiaxing-Huzhou Railway, and supporting Jiaxing to develop airport-oriented economy, foster and develop modern aviation-based service industry.
