Yesterday morning, the founding ceremony was held for the News Media Center (Media Group) of Jiaxing. It is a measure for Jiaxing to “improve the systems for communications across all forms of media and create a new environment of mainstream public opinion” required by the 20th National Congress of the CPC, and implement the deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee to integrate the media at the municipal level, which indicated Jiaxing had taken a solid step to deepen the integration of the media at the municipal level and local news publicity has entered a new development stage.

Chen Wei, secretary of the CPC Municipal Committee and Zhao Lei, deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, jointly unveiled the founding of the News Media Center of Jiaxing and both made speeches. Other leaders also attended the ceremony such as Zhang Yan, secretary of the Party Leadership Group of Radio and Television Bureau of Zhejiang and director of Radio and Television Bureau of Zhejiang, Fan Qingyu, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and director of Publicity Department of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee, Zhang Yonghong and Wang Dengfeng.

On behalf of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee, the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress of Jiaxing, the Municipal People’s Government of Jiaxing and the CPPCC Jiaxing Municipal Committee, Chen Wei extended warm congratulations on the establishment of the News Media Center (Media Group) of Jiaxing and sincere greetings to all the comrades working hard in the news and publicity fields. We should take the founding of the News Media Center (Media Group) of Jiaxing as an opportunity to build a new type of mainstream media of high quality and take the lead in Zhejiang and even in the whole country; the development of the news media work should be led by the Party, adhere to the correct political direction, public opinion direction and value orientation, serve as a good “transmitter” of the theories and policies of the Party and a “think tank” of the Party and governments, publicize well Jiaxing and demonstrate Jiaxing’s good image; we must put the people at the first position and strengthen our work capability to work as a bridge to serve the people; we should continue to pursue reform and innovation, improve technological quality and make innovations in publicity structures, technologies and platforms to serve as a pioneer of integrated development of the media, according to Chen Wei.

In his speech, Zhao Lei stressed that 2023 would be the first year to fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC. The founding of the News Media Center (Media Group) of Jiaxing marked Jiaxing’s news publicity had entered a new stage; It’s hoped that the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and Municipal People’s Government of Jiaxing could provide more supports and issue relevant favorable policies to drive Jiaxing to serve as a pioneer in media integration so as to well publicize Jiaxing and Zhejiang; it’s expected that News Media Center of Jiaxing could stay true to its original aspiration and work hard to take the lead in media integration in Zhejiang and even in the whole country, according to Zhao Lei.

Based on the joint work deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and Municipal People’s Government of Jiaxing have attached great importance to the in-depth integration of municipal-level media, and immediately started relevant work, for example, setting up a special work group and repeatedly studying the integration reform plan. On December 21, 2022, the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee deliberated and approved the establishment of the News Media Center (Media Group) of Jiaxing. This newly established news media center will fully integrate all major platforms such as newspapers, radios, TV stations and new media with a view to building a brand-new news client “Reading Jiaxing” into a more powerful and diversified publicity platform to serve Jiaxing, accelerate the construction of a model city of common prosperity and a pioneer city of socialist modernization and help Jiaxing take the lead in making landmark achievements in the high-quality development and construction of the demonstration zone of common prosperity and take the lead in basically realizing socialist modernization.

At the establishment ceremony, Zhejiang Jiaguang Information Technology Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement on media technology convergence with the media centers of each county (county-level city and district) to establish a new convergence media technology company of Jiaxing and build a technological ecological system to support the convergence media center of Jiaxing and create a new engine for the development of media-based economy.
