Yesterday morning, the standing committee of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee held a meeting to study General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important points on sci-tech innovation, the article “Pool Tremendous Strengths and Grasp the Trend of the Times——Comrade Xi Jinping’s Exploration and Practice on the United Front Work during His Work in Zhejiang”, and the implementation suggestions in Jiaxing. Chen Wei, secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech, and other leaders of Jiaxing Li Jun, Gao Linghui, Chen Lizhong and Shuai Xie Lang were present at the meeting.

We must accurately grasp the rich connotations and core significance of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important points on sci-tech innovation, deeply understand the strategic position of sci-tech innovation in the cause of the Party and the state, the sci-tech innovation’s strategic orientations (i.e. facing the world’s sci-tech frontier, “main economic battlefield”, national major needs, and people’s life and health), the strategic determination of sci-tech self-reliance, the strategic consideration of the integration of education, sci-tech and talent, and the strategic deployment of innovation-driven development, and further strengthen our senses of mission, urgency and responsibility for sci-tech innovation, according to the meeting.

We must focus on the strategic layout of national sci-tech innovation, build a leading city in innovation and intelligent manufacturing, continue to amplify the advantages of innovation resources’ rapid accumulation, improve sci-tech innovation platforms and the quality and efficiency in attracting and training talent, accelerate and upgrade innovation cooperation, optimize innovation ecology and accelerate our efforts to build Jiaxing into an influential sci-tech innovation center in the Yangtze River Delta to provide strong sci-tech innovation momentum for building an important central city in the city cluster of the Yangtze River Delta, according to the meeting.
