Yesterday morning, the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee held a meeting to study the guiding principle of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on the public communication and culture work, convey the guiding principle of the conference of the national public communication and culture work, and study the implementation suggestions in Jiaxing. Chen Wei, secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech, and other leaders Gao Linghui, Chen Lizhong and Shuai Xielang were present at the meeting.

From an overall and strategic perspective, General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on the public communication and culture work have fully affirmed the historic achievements made in the public communication and culture cause since the 18th CPC National Congress, profoundly elaborated the important status and role of the public communication and culture work, made definite requirements for comprehensively implementing the guiding principle of the 20^th CPC National Congress, shouldering new cultural missions and working hard at the culture and public communication work in the new journey in the new era, according to the meeting. The most important achievements of the national conference on the culture and public communication work is that the conference formally proposed and systematically expounded Xi Jinping’s thought on culture, which is a milestone in the history of the development of the Party’s public communication and culture cause and symbolizes that our Party’s understanding of the law of promoting socialist culture with Chinese characteristics has reached a new level, so have our Party’s historical confidence and cultural confidence.

The meeting stressed that we must deeply understand the importance of the culture and public communication work, the great achievements in the culture and public communication work since the new era, and the missions and tasks of the culture and public communication work, align what we think and do with General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions as well as the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee, and strengthen our senses of responsibility and mission in promoting the culture and public communication work in the new journey in the new era.

The meeting stressed we must integrate the study and implementation of General Xi Jinping’s important instructions into the theoretical study program, and into the implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and guidance on Jiaxing’s culture work. We must study and implement together, strengthen theoretical research and interpretation, promote cultural inheritance and development, uphold our ideology, strive to build Jiaxing into a leading city in culture and civilization in the new era, provide powerful ideological guarantees, motivation, and intellectual support for speeding up efforts to build an important central city in the city cluster of the Yangtze River Delta.
