Yesterday morning, the Plenary Meeting of the Preparatory Work Leadership Group of Jiaxing of Wuzhen Summit of World Internet Conference 2023 & Mobilization Meeting was held. Chen Wei, secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. We must deeply study and implement the guiding principle of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech in his inspection tour in Zhejiang and the the guiding principle of his series of important instructions on Wuzhen Summit, earnestly implement the requirements of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee to organize a new and more outstanding and brilliant summit with energy, a high spirit and practical work conduct, and make high-standard and high-quality preparations, according to Chen Wei. Li Jun, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and mayor of Municipal People’s Government of Jiaxing, presided over the meeting.

Chen Wei affirmed the preparation work of the previous days. Wuzhen Summit of the World Internet Conference is an important diplomatic activity in the Internet field. With a special significance, this year’s summit is a conference bearing a new mission, starting a new journey and presenting new achievements; we must understand the political significance and requirements of this summit from the perspectives of firmly defending the decisive significance of establishing Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and establishing the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era，upholding Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and upholding the Central Committee’s authority and its centralized, unified leadership, resolutely shoulder the political responsibility of hosting this summit, and continuously enhance Wuzhen Summit’s authority, brand and culture; we must ensure the security of the Summit by preparing to deal with worst-case scenarios, fully examining all types of risks and hidden dangers, formulating emergency response plans, and building a strong “firewall” for the Summit, according to Chen Wei.

Wuzhen Summit is an important window to showcase the image of Jiaxing to the outside world. We must focus on innovation, make the Summit full of international characteristics, Chinese style and features of the host; we must work hard to enhance the platforms for holding activities, exhibiting achievements and publicizing culture, and well exhibit Chinese culture, Zhejiang’s image and Jiaxing’s excellence through Wuzhen Summit; we must take considerate measures, firmly establish the idea that details determine success or failure, receive foreign guests in accordance with international standards, serve guests with the first-class standards and provide comprehensive supports in accordance with the standards of the Asian Games Hangzhou to ensure the work and service are of high quality and in compliance with strict requirements; we must make full use of the host’s advantages, strive to introduce high-quality projects and high-end talent, build efficient cooperation mechanisms, amplify the benefits of digit and intelligence technologies to add new driving forces to building Jiaxing into an important central city of the city cluster of the Yangtze River Delta, according to Chen Wei.

At the meeting, the leader of Jiaxing briefed the basic situation of the Wuzhen Summit 2023 and previous preparation work. The representatives from Bureau of Economy and Information Technology of Jiaxing, Bureau of Public Security of Jiaxing, Jiaxing Office of the Yangtze River Delta and Tongxiang City made speeches respectively.
