Led by Chen Wei, secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee, and Li Jun, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and mayor of Municipal People’s Government of Jiaxing, the Party and government delegation of Jiaxing visited Suzhou yesterday afternoon and held discussions and exchanges with Liu Xiaotao, secretary of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Wu Qingwen, deputy secretary of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and mayor of Municipal People’s Government of Suzhou.

On behalf of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and Municipal People’s Government of Jiaxing, Chen Wei expressed heartfelt thanks to Suzhou for its long-term understanding and support for Jiaxing’s development. Jiaxing and Suzhou share the same cultural origin, have close cultural affinity, benefit from economic integrated development and serve as close neighbors to each other; this is a trip to visit “relatives”, learn from Suzhou and seek cooperation; all the way, we are deeply impressed by Suzhou’s charm, strength, vitality and development motivation; Suzhou’s leading advantages and strong momentum of high-quality development set a benchmark and an example for us; now Jiaxing is implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech in his inspection tour in Zhejiang and speeding up efforts to build a central city in the city cluster of the Yangtze River Delta; Jiaxing and Suzhou both undertake the strategic tasks of jointly constructing the demonstration zone for integrated ecological and green development in the Yangtze River Delta region and Hongqiao International Open Hub; looking forward to the future, we hope to further strengthen both sides’ complementarity in policies, systems, infrastructure, science and technology, industries and public services, and work together to promote the exchange and cooperation between Jiaxing and Suzhou in a wider range at a deeper level to contribute to the better implementation of the national strategy- the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, according to him.

On behalf of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Municipal People’s Government of Suzhou, Liu Xiaotao expressed warm welcome to the visit of Jiaxing’s Party and government delegation and its long-term understanding and support for Suzhou’s development. Now Suzhou is studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech in his inspection tour in Jiangsu and Suzhou, and striving to take the lead and serve as a model in promoting Chinese modernization; in recent years, Jiaxing has achieved remarkable progress in serving the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, the development of digital economy, the upgrading of manufacturing industry and the improvement of people’s livelihood; many good experiences and practices are worth our learning; Suzhou and Jiaxing jointly shoulder major responsibilities for the protection of Taihu Lake, undertake the strategic tasks of constructing the demonstration zone for integrated ecological and green development in the Yangtze River Delta region and Hongqiao International Open Hub; both sides have a solid foundation and broad space for cooperation; we hope to further strengthen all-round and deep-level cooperation in industrial development, joint innovation, cultural inheritance, ecological co-protection and the improvement of people’s livelihood, and join hands to promote the higher-quality development of the demonstration zone for integrated ecological and green development in the Yangtze River Delta region and accumulate new experience for the coordinated development of the different regions across the country.

Such leaders as Gao Linghui, Chen Lizhong, Shuai Xielang from Jiaxing and Li Yaping from Suzhou participated in the exchanges.
