On raising awareness of the need to stay true to the Party’s founding mission, a Research Achievements Exchange Conference was held by the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee  yesterday morning. The Conference aimed to study and implement in depth the important instructions and speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping, and the latest guiding principles of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee on raising awareness of the need to stay true to the Party’s founding mission, exchange research achievements, analyze typical cases and strengthen the transformation and application of those research achievements to obtain more effective and solid progress in raising awareness of the need to stay true to the Party’s founding mission.

Chen Wei, secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and the group leader of raising awareness of the need to stay true to the Party’s founding mission, presided over the conference and delivered a speech. The comrades of the Fifth Inspection and Guidance Group of Raising Awareness of the Need to Stay True to the Party’s Founding Mission of the CPC Central Committee attended the conference, and Zhou Weijiang, head of the Fourth Inspection and Guidance Group of Raising Awareness of the Need to Stay True to the Party’s Founding Mission of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee was present to offer guidance. Other municipal leaders of Jiaxing made exchanges at or submitted written statements to the conference such as Li Jun, Gao Linghui, Chen Lizhong and Shuai Xielang, and other members of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and head of Municipal Intermediate People’s Court of Jiaxing.

Based on typical cases and he and his colleagues’ visits and inspections in Shanghai and Suzhou, Chen Wei made a speech on the topic “Research on Major Issues and Measures of Jiaxing’s In-depth Promotion of ‘Double Eight Development Strategy’ in the New Journey”. Jiaxing has undergone a comprehensive, systematic and in-depth transformation under the guidance of the “Double Eight Development Strategy”; at a new historical starting point, we should use the methodology contained in the “Double Eight Development Strategy” to settle the problems preventing the development, expand the development scale, attach importance to important industrial projects and the leading role of Jiaxing Airport, support state-owned, private and foreign-funded enterprises, strive to integrate into the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, and accelerate efforts to become one of the cities whose GDP reaches one trillion yuan each year; we should focus on improving development quality and effectiveness and enhance sci-tech innovation, the role of industries and platforms and enterprises’ competitiveness to build a modern economic system; we should strengthen the driver of development and the supply of various factors, optimize business environment, vigorously private economy, and “sweet potato economy”（sweet potato economy means the markets and resources of enterprises are both outside Zhejiang, which encourages enterprises like plants to go out to make their “vines” grow in all directions, but their “roots” are still in Zhejiang）to form new advantages in systems and mechanisms; we should enhance development scale and level, promote urban blocks-based organic renewal, build major strategic and differentiated platforms, formulate integrated and efficient development planning to build Jiaxing into a big city; we should create conditions for people to share development achievements, increase their incomes and improve public services, social security and social governance to accelerate efforts to build Jiaxing into a model city of common prosperity, according to Chen Wei.

As the birthplace of the CPC, Jiaxing has a special political status, so we must always remain firm and sober, deeply summarize and publicize positive cases and amplify their influences, analyze in depth negative cases and resolutely put an end to them; we should raise political stance and guard the Party’s roots whenever and wherever possible; we must firmly foster the right view on performance evaluation, and insist that development is for the people and by the people and that its fruits are shared by the people; we should improve primary-level social governance to meet people’s aspiration for a better life with a safe and stable environment, according to Chen Wei.

陈伟强调，大兴调查研究是这次主题教育的一项重要内容和一大鲜明特色。要切实用好调查研究这个传家宝，让调查研究成为一种思想自觉、行动自觉，真正把情况摸清、把问题找准、把对策提实、把工作推动。要持续做好调研成果完善和转化，分行业分领域分层次进一步深化研究、用心思考，切实把调研成果转化为推动高质量发展的“金钥匙”。要扎实抓好岁末年初的各项工作，深入谋划明年重点项目，保持社会大局平安稳定，做好元旦、春节期间民生保障。

Conducting in-depth researches and studies is an important content and a distinctive feature of raising awareness of the need to stay true to the Party’s founding mission; we must make full use of it, consciously pinpoint problems and put forward targeted countermeasures to promote it; we must continue to deepen researches, analyze and improve research results of each industry and effectively transform the research results into the “golden key” to promote high-quality development; we should prepare for the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, make in-depth planning for key projects of 2024 and maintain social security and stability to ensure people’s well-being during the holiday of the upcoming New Year and Spring Festival, according to Chen Wei.
