Yesterday afternoon, a summing-up meeting was held in Jiaxing on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The meeting was held to deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions on the theoretical study program, strictly implement the relevant requirements of the CPC Central Committee and Zhejiang Province, comprehensively summarize the practice and gains in the theoretical study program in Jiaxing, make arrangements for consolidating and expanding the gains from the theoretical study program to continuously study Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in Jiaxing. Chen Wei, secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and head of the Leadership Group of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee on the Theoretical Study Program, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. According to him, we must earnestly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches made at the meeting of the Central Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, firmly shoulder the responsibility of Jiaxing as the starting point of the Red Boat, conscientiously consolidate and expand the gains from the theoretical study program in Jiaxing, accelerate efforts to build an important center city in the city cluster of the Yangtze River Delta and play a more important role in Zhejiang that is striving to serve as a pioneer and write a new chapter.

Zhou Weijiang, head of the Fourth Inspection and Supervision Group of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Theoretical Study Program, delivered a speech, and other leaders also attended the meeting such as Shi Huilong, Li Jun, Gao Linghui, Chen Lizhong and Shuai Xielang.

Chen Wei stressed that we must continue to strengthen the political responsibility and mission of Jiaxing as the starting point of the Red Boat, gain a deep understanding of the decisive significance of establishing Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and establishing the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to constantly consolidate the ideological foundation of guarding the “Red Root” and stay loyal to the Party; we must learn the law and principle of the Party’s scientific theories to improve our political ability, thinking ability and practice ability; we must fulfill the mission and task of shouldering greater responsibilities and embracing new development opportunities, continuously stimulate determinations to make progress and always bear in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions for Jiaxing.

Chen Wei stressed that since the second round of the theoretical study program started, Jiaxing had worked hard to practise the theoretical study program, created an environment where officials, local governments, enterprises and the people dared to make innovations, serve as pioneers, compete with the strongest and surpass them, inherited and applied the way of “Hehe Investigation” to relieve people’s difficulties and benefit the people, conducted rigorous and thorough self-examinations and rectifications, created the environment to “strive for excellence and climb higher” and focused on community-level work and the Party building, achieving  high-quality development and fully demonstrating the great efforts of Jiaxing as the starting point of the Red Boat.

We must consolidate and expand the gains from the theoretical study program and establish a sound long-term mechanism to continuously gather the overwhelming momentum of daring to shoulder greater responsibilities and embracing new development opportunities; we must continue to exert effort in aligning ourselves with the benchmark, keep absolutely loyal to the Party, maintain strategic resolve for continuous struggle and issue enterprising measures for progress; we must strengthen theoretical study, “follow the footprints and trace the sources”, and strive to achieve real effects; we must focus on the central tasks of the Party in the new era, foster the right view on performance evaluation and vigorously implement policy; we must deepen rectifications, issue regulations and systems for long-term effects, and tighten disciplines and rules; we must focus on community-level work, set good examples, publicize models, establish efficient systems and improve officials’ quality and ability, according to Chen Wei.

Zhou Weijiang stressed that the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee attached great importance to the theoretical study program with strong leadership, effective measures, great efforts in tackling difficulties, high efficiency in focusing on the central tasks of the Party in the new era and tangible benefits to the people, making progress both in the theoretical study program and economic and social development, and showcasing the charm of Jiaxing as a pioneer and a model; in the future, Jiaxing should continue to deeply implement the requirements of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee to continuously consolidate and expand the gains of the theoretical study program; the Party members and officials must continue to study to stay loyal to the Party, improve ability in serving the people, build Jiaxing into a clean and intelligent pioneering region in the Party building and drive high-quality economic and social development through study and hard work.

The meeting was held via video, and sub-venues were arranged for this video conference in each county (county-level city and district), Economic and Technological Development Zone of Jiaxing and Economic Development Zone of Zhapu (Jiaxing Port Zone).
