High-quality projects are the “strong engines” for high-quality development and important driving forces to expand investment, optimize industrial structures and stabilize growth. At the beginning of this Chinese Dragon Year, the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Provincial People’s Governments of Zhejiang organized an opening ceremony to push ahead 333 projects with a total investment of 977 billion yuan to mobilize the whole province to seize opportunities, strive for a quick, strong and good start in the first quarter, lay a solid foundation for steady and high-quality development of 2024 and provide strong supports for Zhejiang to “strive to serve as a pioneer and write a new chapter”.

In Jiaxing, the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Provincial People’s Government of Zhejiang held the opening ceremony to push ahead the major projects that started their construction, production and operation yesterday morning. Those major projects were characterized by great influence, strict standards and high quality; of those projects, 14 had a total investment over 10 billion yuan each, 43 had a total investment between 5 billion and 10 billion yuan each, 185 started their construction with a total investment of 500.8 billion yuan, 74 started their production with a total investment of 222.1 billion yuan and 74 started their operation with a total investment of 254.1 billion yuan.

Yi Lianhong, secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, announced the beginning of the opening ceremony, and Wang Hao, deputy secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, also governor of Provincial People’s Government of Zhejiang, delivered a speech.

Wang Hao stressed that governments and departments of each region must act promptly to push forward with three “No. 1 Projects” and “Top Ten Projects”, adhere to “Project-oriented development” to create a strong development momentum, make a good start in the first quarter of the year and lay a solid foundation for achieving annual targets of high quality development; every region must attach importance to major projects, implement the concept “better projects, better development” to expand effective investment, optimize investment structures and improve investment efficiency through major projects; efforts must be made to facilitate the construction, production and operation of the major projects as early as possible, and improve their quality and efficiency; the major projects that started their construction must be constructed on schedule and play a model and a guiding role; those that started their production and operation must operate and produce on schedule to exert driving effect on the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain; every effort must be done to plan, attract and foster new major projects based on national strategies, plans, layout of productive forces and advanced manufacturing clusters “414X”; efforts must be done to plan major strategic and pioneering projects, attract top-end major projects with strong driving forces and high quality, and major foreign investment projects, leverage the advantages of “Zhejiang Entrepreneurs” and the private capital of Zhejiang, enhance investment confidence and optimize investment environment to attract more excellent major projects to choose Zhejiang; every effort must be done to focus on major projects, provide them with sufficient factors and “one for one” services, strengthen “life-circle” closed-loop management and integrate various forces to make them achieve rapid progress, form new driving forces and contribute more to Zhejiang in striving to be a pioneer and writing a new chapter, according to Wang Hao.

The opening ceremony was shared by the sub-venues of other prefecture-level cities of Zhejiang via videos. Other provincial leaders also attended the ceremony in Jiaxing or in the sub-venues of other cities such as Liu Jie, deputy secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, and Peng Jiaxue, Qiu Qiwen, Yao Gaoyuan, Tang Feifan, Zhang Ping and Chen Long. Xu Wenguang presided over the opening ceremony.

The leaders of Jiaxing attended the ceremony as well such as Chen Wei, Li Jun, Gao Linghui, Chen Lizhong and Shuai Xielang.
