According to the deployment of the Leading Group of the Construction of Peaceful Zhejiang of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, a provincial inspection and supervision group led by Zhao Cheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee begun to inspect and supervise the work on the construction Peaceful Zhejiang of 2023 yesterday. In the morning, Chen Wei, secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee made a work report on the efforts of Jiaxing in the construction of Peaceful Zhejiang and other leaders also attended the meeting such as Shuai Xielang, Yan Hairong, Zhang Donghe, Qi Hailong and Dai Ming.

In 2023, Jiaxing spared no effort to safeguard the safety of the Asian Games Hangzhou, serve and support three “No. 1 Projects” of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, and prevent the risks against steady development with a result that the social situation remained peaceful and stable and made a number of achievements with Jiaxing’s features, which deserved full affirmation, according to the provincial inspection and supervision group. 

2024 is another year for Zhejiang to “serve as a pioneer and write a new chapter” as well as the 20th anniversary of the construction of Peaceful Zhejiang; efforts must be made to focus on the Chinese modernization, the new target and mission of Zhejiang, continuously work harder, strengthen the construction of Peaceful Zhejiang to contribute more to the whole country and province through Jiaxing’s stability, progress and establishment of the new; efforts must be intensified to deeply study General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speeches on the Peaceful China initiative, further enhance the sense of responsibilities and missions of building Jiaxing into a high-level demonstration zone of the Peaceful China initiative, resolve pressing difficulties and problems that concern the people, further enhance people’s sense of fulfillment, happiness and security；efforts must be intensified to carefully organize and implement relevant activities to improve the reputation and quality of the construction of Peaceful Zhejiang; Jiaxing should serve as a pioneer, make continuous innovation and greater progress in implementing “Double Eight Development Strategy” in the new journey towards Chinese modernization and lay a safe condition for building Zhejiang into an important window fully demonstrating the superiority of the socialism with Chinese characteristics of the New Era and constructing Zhejiang Demonstration Zone for Common Prosperity through High-quality Development, according to the provincial inspection and supervision group.

In 2023, Jiaxing shouldered major responsibilities bravely and marched forward steadfastly; the indicators for peaceful and stable development tended to be better; Jiaxing, as a pilot city of the modernization of urban and rural social governance, successfully passed the national inspection, and won “Two-star Safe Gold Ding” of Zhejiang; efforts were made in Jiaxing to strengthen leadership, coordination, major work, mechanisms’ roles, assessment and  implementations to promote the construction of Peaceful Jiaxing in a systemic way; efforts were made to overcome difficulties to fully ensure the safety of major events such as the Asian Games Hangzhou, Asian Para Games Hangzhou and Wuzhen Summit of the World Internet Conference; targeted measures were made to crack down on crimes, prevent major accidents in workplaces, reduce traffic accidents and improve food and drug safety to ensure the people’s safe life and work; efforts were made to fulfill duties according to the law, optimize the handling of the cases involving enterprises, strengthen intellectual property protection, enhance the quality and efficiency of law enforcement and judicial work and provide more law services to improve the law-based business environment; efforts were made to strengthen the foundation of the construction of Peaceful Jiaxing, ensure the safety of each industry and unit and set up community-based social governance alliances and teams. In the future, Jiaxing will deeply study and implement the guiding principle of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech made in his inspection in Zhejiang, earnestly implement “Regulations on Promoting the Construction of Peaceful Zhejiang” and drive high-quality and high-level development and the construction of Peaceful Jiaxing to contribute more to the whole province. 

During their trip in Jiaxing, the provincial inspection and supervision group members will also go to each county (county-level city and district) of Jiaxing for on-site inspections.
