Yesterday morning, a Regular Working Conference of Zhejiang was held in Hangzhou on in-depth implementation of “Double Eight Development Strategy” and strong promotion of innovation, reform and opening up. It was a video conference available to each city, county county-level city and district of Zhejiang. Chen Wei, secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee, attended the conference at the sub-venue in Jiaxing and made an exchange speech on the theme of “Focusing on High-quality Development, Building a Strong ‘Bridgehead’ and Accelerating Efforts to Build an Important Central City in the City Cluster of the Yangtze River Delta”. Besides, other leaders of Jiaxing attended the conference at the sub-venue of Jiaxing such as Li Jun, Gao Linghui, Chen Lizhong and Shuai Xielang.

According to Chen Wei, Jiaxing has been deeply studying and implementing the guiding principle of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech made in his inspection in Zhejiang, bearing in mind the instructions that Jiaxing should work hard to serve as a “bridgehead” integrating into Shanghai and take the overflowing effect of Shanghai, stay true to the general principle of pursuing progress while ensuring stability, promote stability through progress, build the new before discarding the old, work hard for innovation, reform and opening up, and fully build high-quality teams of cadres, creative talents & entrepreneurs and workers to achieve solid high-quality development. In the first quarter of this year, major economic indicators maintained a steady growth and achieved a “good start”.

Chen Wei mainly introduced the experience of Jiaxing in three aspects. Jiaxing has given play to the role as an “outpost of the bridgehead”, shaped new advantages with new momentum, highlighted industrial integration and collaboration of science and innovation, and served as a pioneer in attracting and training talents to accelerate efforts to build a strong city in intelligent manufacturing and innovation.

Jiaxing has played the role as a “gateway of the bridgehead”, integrated into domestic economy through efforts in opening up, improved service and business environment, attracted leading projects and vigorously constructed transportation infrastructure to build a joint that links domestic and international markets. Jiaxing has played a role as “a front position of the bridgehead”, led the development with strong Party building, continuously fostered the right view on performance evaluation, striven for new achievements for the people, strengthened the key role of primary-level Party organizations, created an environment where officials, local governments, enterprises and the people dare to make innovations, serve as pioneers, compete with the strongest and surpass them, and amplified investment incentives to build a diligent and clean pioneering city of the Partying building in the new era. In the future, Jiaxing will continue to follow the requirements of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Provincial People’s Government of Zhejiang, work hard, settle hardships, reach the targets set for the middle and end of this year, invest more in transport infrastructure; Jiaxing will continue to establish advanced industrial systems, improve urban image, create a pattern of common prosperity, accelerate efforts to build an important central city in the city cluster of the Yangtze River Delta and contribute more to Zhejiang’s great efforts to serve as a pioneer and write a new chapter in the journey towards Chinese modernization.
