Yesterday morning, the meeting to build Jiaxing into a model city with modern health cause was held to further mobilize and arrange the work on deepening the reforms of medical treatment and health systems to promote the development of local health cause. Chen Wei, secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee, attended the meeting, which stressed that we would continue to study the Healthy China initiative by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, and the instructions made in his inspection in Zhejiang, faithfully implement “Double Eight Development Strategy”, take high-quality development as our primary task, narrowing urban-rural, regional and income gaps as our main directions, reform and innovation as fundamental driving forces, and meeting people’s aspiration for better life as our purpose to build Jiaxing into a model city with modern health cause and make Jiaxing’s contributions to constructing Chinese modernization. Wang Renyuan, director of Health Commission of Zhejiang, attended the meeting as well and made a speech. Li Jun, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee, also mayor of Municipal People’s Government of Jiaxing, presided over the meeting.

People’s health links the Party committees, governments and thousands of households, so it is an important issue of the country, and influences social development and people’s well-being; at a new starting point, we must conform to the trend of the times, know well progress directions and deeply understand the health issue is a “compulsory political question we must answer”, and a favorable factor to social development and improving people’s life; we must move forward with courage and perseverance, shoulder the new mission, obtain new achievements, stay true to the Party’s founding mission to improve people’s well-being and solidly propel the high-quality development of the health cause, according to Chen Wei.

We must adhere to the concept that improving people’s health is improving people’s livelihood and boosting development, and strive to integrate health policies into the development strategy and provide one-stop health services to benefit the people; we must attach importance to quality and balanced development of the health cause, intensify efforts in major health issues and projects, combine various health resources and optimize diagnosis and treatment environment to build a perfect medical service system; we must give priority to disease prevention, build a healthy environment across the whole city, improve disease prevention and control capabilities and strengthen public health management to build a sound public health system; we must take into consideration the health of all people, optimize whole-process health services, upgrade mental health systems, accelerate the integrated development of sports and the medical cause to build a perfect service system for all the people; we must strengthen efficient governance, improve the mechanisms of health development goals, policies, information and supervisions, better coordinate the reforms of medical treatment, medical insurance, and medicines to build a cooperative mechanism among them; we must work harder to strengthen medical sci-tech innovation, improve health personnel and promote the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicines to build a sound innovation system; we must strengthen implementation, management and leadership, provide comprehensive supports to gather all forces to push ahead with the modern development of the health cause, according to Chen Wei.

Wang Renyuan fully affirmed Jiaxing’ achievements in the development of the health cause. He stressed that it is necessary to earnestly study and implement the guidelines of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Fifth Plenary Session of the 15th CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, continue to give priority to the development of the health cause, deeply understand that the health cause modernization is indispensable to implementing the “Double Eight Development Strategy” and to realizing people’s aspiration for a better life, and is an important measure to implement the new mission, serve and integrate into the development of the whole province; it is an internal driving force to develop new quality productive forces faster, achieve high-quality development and further enhance the sense of responsibility and mission of promoting the modernization of the health cause. As the city for the “Red Boat” to set sail, Jiaxing should accelerate efforts to be built into an important central city in the city cluster of the Yangtze River Delta, achieve greater breakthroughs in creating a healthy city model of Zhejiang, improve medical services, strengthen digital reform, build Jiaxing into the safest city in public health and promote in-depth medical reforms to make Jiaxing’s contributions to building Healthy Zhejiang.

At the meeting, the main leaders of Health Commission of Jiaxing reported the progress in Jiaxing’s modernization of the health cause; the representatives of Jiashan County, Bureau of Medical Insurance of Jiaxing and First People’s Hospital made speeches for exchanges.
